A Pair of Detentions Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

This incident caused the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
